I'm excited to share shapshots from Alex and Larissa's wedding with you today. They were married this past August, on a perfect, clear, and gorgeous day. They hired me to setup and takedown their wedding decor, and were gracious to share some of the amazing photos from their wedding day. I especially LOVE the mountain top shots that were captured via the bride and groom's helicopter trip up a local mountain. Thank you, Alex and Larissa, for including me as part of your wedding day! It was truly beautiful, and I know that you will have an equally beautiful marriage and future ahead of you! Love always, Jodi Marie "Jodi did an absolutely amazing job at setting up my decor on my wedding day, it looked exactly how I had envisioned it! I would definitely recommend her as she is very detail oriented and was excellent at communicating with me to make sure she had all the information she needed to make the decor look exactly how I wanted it to." - Larissa

It is always a privilege and an honour to assist a couple with their wedding. Jesse & Olivia's wedding was certainly one that I was grateful to be a part of. The entire wedding day was so perfectly planned out and executed, and I felt an overwhelming sense of love throughout the wedding day. A few highlights for me included:
Love always, Jodi Marie "I have to brag about our wedding coordinator, Jodi, from Jodi Marie Events, who ran around accomplishing any number of large and small tasks throughout the entire day. We are so grateful for her flexibility in providing services, her expertise and suggestions, and for the way she completely took over and allowed me, the ultimate control freak, the peace of a stress-free day. I would highly recommend finding a day-of coordinator and I would highly recommend Jodi!" -Olivia Cake: Liz (friend of the bride) Caterer: Karen's Catering Day-Of Coordinator: Jodi Marie Events Florist: Confetti Floral Design Photographer: Adrian Michael Photography Wedding Dress: Bliss Consignment Bridal This past Fall, I was approached by Shannon of Riso Studio to do a collaboration photoshoot. Upon viewing her website and Instagram, I immediately fell in love with her work. Shannon is from Arizona and she told me she'd be visiting Vancouver for two weeks in early October, and wanted to see if we could squeeze in a photoshoot during her visit. I loved her vision for the shoot so Shannon and I met over Skype, got to know each other, and immediately began planning this beautiful shoot.
Everything honestly fell into place perfectly for this shoot, and it turned out amazingly! It was featured on Vale + Vine, which was a true honour. Special thanks to the extremely talented vendors who made this photoshoot happen, they are all so wonderful! It has truly been an amazing year, and I'm amazed at how my dreams and expectations have been completely surpassed. Today, on this last day of December, I am sharing a few of my favourite wedding moments and memories from 2015. Enjoy! <3 J & S - My favourite memory from their wedding was the cake cutting. The groom is a very outdoorsy guy (I mean, his proposal to his bride took place in the middle of a forest on a bench that he built from a tree that he had just chopped down). At the start of the cake cutting at the wedding, the groom suddenly appeared with a chainsaw. He fired the chainsaw up and then poised to cut the cake with it. Right before he dug into the cake with the chainsaw, he turned it off and flashed a smile at everyone. It was a really funny moment, and one that won't easily be forgotten! J & S - The one memory that sticks out in my mind from this wedding was the excitement that everyone shared. The bride, groom, bridal party, and all of their family and friends were beyond thrilled for this beautiful couple. The day included loud cheers, endless hugs, and one of the longest receiving lines I've ever seen. The sense of community was astounding, and I know that this couple will receive an endless amount of support as they venture on in life. D & M - The beautiful details from this wedding are something that I will always remember. The bride went to great lengths to ensure that every detail of the wedding was thought of. This included amazing florals and decor, a signature cocktail, handmade wedding favours, and fully-loaded goodie baskets in each of the washrooms. J & O - The speeches at this wedding were absolutely memorable. Each speech was heartfelt, concise, hilarious, and meaningful. The 'speech-givers' were so honouring of the bride and groom and I left the wedding feeling like I knew the bride and groom on a whole new level. D & A - This car was one of my favourite memories from this wedding day. It made for some really fantastic photographs, and perfectly fit the bridal party as they drove the the various photography locations. Another special memory from this wedding day was how smooth it all went. It was one of the most seamless weddings I've ever had the opportunity of coordinating, and it really was a special day. S & A - I will never forget how conscious this couple was of ensuring that their guests had a great time at the wedding. They had beautiful wedding favours, endless amounts of food and alcohol, an upbeat DJ, and a "selfie booth" to keep guests happy and entertained. They even included the bride's Granny in the wedding, who unfortunately had passed on before the wedding. They did this by wearing a watch and ring that had been gifted to them by her. <3 A & L - The mountaintop photographs that were captured at this wedding are my absolute favourite. The day was clear and sunny, with soft wispy clouds. This view and the beautiful sky was the perfect backdrop for taking photographs atop a mountain. R & A - My favourite memory when I look back at this wedding is how the couple took time to revel in the fact that they were newly married. They spaced out the day in a way that allowed for breaks, as well as moments to mingle with friends and wedding guests. During their first dance, the bride and groom were so entranced with one another that it was as if there were nobody around watching them. J & M - This wedding was beautifully put together, and that it was I remember most about it. The decor and details were almost entirely DIY, as put together by the bride. The reception room was STUNNING. The bride prepared so many details, including a gigantic flower wall and lovely floral centrepieces. It was wonderful to see it all come together, and I'm grateful to have been a small part in the setup of it. Thanks for all the love in 2015! Here's to an amazing 2016!!!
As I wrote this blog post, I was sitting at the spa indulging myself with a pedicure. I was celebrating the last wedding of the year and I was also reflecting on this past year. Today, I’m going to share some of those reflections with you.
I officially launched my business a year ago this month. I've been in the wedding industry for over 8 years now, but it's been an entirely different experience running a business of my own. I honestly never pictured myself as a business owner. However, it just landed in my lap and I'm so grateful that it did. I haven’t yet shared how I came to start Jodi Marie Events, so I'd like to share that story with you. I've always loved weddings. I worked for a wedding decor company for years, and I loved seeing all of the unique weddings that I had the opportunity of setting up and helping put together. When I was married back in 2012, I loved the entire wedding planning process. It was such a joy to put together all of the details of the wedding day, and it was overwhelming and wonderful to see it all come together the way that it did. After I was married, friends of mine began asking me to help with their weddings. I ended up helping plan, coordinator, setup, and decorate quite a few of my friend's weddings, and I always loved it. In 2013, someone I knew posted on Facebook that they were looking for a wedding venue. I messaged them and suggested a few wedding venues to them that fit the description that they were looking for. I also mentioned that I loved weddings and would be happy to help them if they needed any assistance. The couple ended taking me up on that offer, and I worked alongside them through planning, organizing and coordinating their wedding. I learned so much throughout the process, and was grateful for the experience. Part way through the planning process for their wedding, they noticed that I had a natural knack for wedding planning, and suggested that I start a business for it. At first, I didn’t take them very seriously, as I didn’t think I could do it plus I didn’t have the funds in place to start a business. But in the end, the couple paid me for my services, which was more than enough to launch my business. After the couple’s wedding in May 2014, I slowly worked towards starting up my business. I wanted to do it well. I did a great deal of research into every step of building my business. In the end, I had a website that I loved, a logo that I loved, business cards that I loved, a brand that I loved, and quite honestly, a business that I loved. It was mine, and it was exactly how I hoped it would be. Since officially launching my business, I’ve worked to get as much experience as possible. I know that a business certainly takes marketing and advertising to grow, but I've found that most of all, you need positive referrals and reviews. If people are happy with your services, they will refer you and your business will grow. In order to expand my experience, I began approaching a few friends and people that I knew to see if they needed any help with their weddings. I explained that I was fairly new in the wedding planning industry, looking to gain experience, and would love to assist with their weddings. The positive response from those that I approached was overwhelming, and I had the chance to help many people with their weddings. I was also elated to be featured on Vancity Bride back in March of this year, which helped to get my name out there. I had a specific goal in mind at the beginning of this year as to how many weddings I wanted to do for people that I did not know and had never met before. At the time, my goal seemed absolutely impossible. Now that the year has come to an end, I am grateful to say that I was able to triple that goal. It really has been a year of growth, stretching, and hard work. It hasn’t always been easy, but in the end it has been so worth it. I’ve met so many amazing people, and have been able to assist with a great number of beautiful weddings. I absolutely love what I do, and cannot wait to see where my business will take me from here. I appreciate everyone who has supported me along this first year of business, and I look forward to what the future years will look like! Thanks for reading! <3 Jodi Marie I met Doug & Anita a few months before their wedding. They are one of the sweetest couples I've ever met, and their excitement for their wedding was contagious. I was very excited when they chose me to be the Day-Of Coordinator for their July wedding. The two of them were married on Doug's family farm, which was the perfect backdrop for their wedding day. The day was truly spectacular, and was one of the smoothest weddings that I've been involved in. A few special memories from the wedding day:
Much love, Jodi Marie "We were on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator for our private property farm wedding on July 11/2015. We had a caterer, moms and a bridal party that was willing to help with our 80 guest wedding, but we were concerned that our moms may feel like they were working the whole night. We decided to go with Jodi, from Jodi Marie Events and we are absolutely thankful we did. Before the big day Jodi helped with arranging wedding day drop off with vendors, helped with timing, answered my slew of questions regarding anything and everything! She had complete contact with the vendors the 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding to eliminate my Husband and I from feeling completely bombarded with questions. She came to our rehearsal, waking through timing etc with us and made us feel comfortable for our big day. Jodi was not only helpful in regards to wedding organization leading up the the wedding, she also helped me keep level headed and was supportive when I was Stressing! On the big day.... She handled it all. From setting up all our table and the contact from our vendors, down to pinning on corsages and boutineers on our bridal party and hunting down grandparents and pinning them! Before we could think of something that needed to get done, Jodi had done it. She saved the day. She kept everything running the whole night. Jodi prevented a wedding day melt down when I almost walked down the aisle with my bustle done up. I truly credit our smooth sailing perfect day to her presence and I am so grateful that we made the decision to hire her for our day. If anyone is on the fence with having a day of coordinator, I would highly recommend it. And I have rave reviews about ours. :)" -Anita Cake: Chloe Makes Cake

The two of them truly love one another, and their wedding day was a strong reflection of that love and devotion. I was the Day-Of Coordinator at the wedding, and it really was an honour. There were so many great moments throughout the wedding day: the heartfelt ceremony, the mimosa toast with their immediate family and bridal party, the adorable ring-bearer, the bride's gorgeous bouquet, the delicious cupcakes, and the breathtaking sunset photos of the bride and groom. I'm thrilled to be sharing the wedding on the blog today! Dave & Mary, I wish you a lifetime of forever love! I can't wait to see where the two of you will go, because I know that you will go far. All the best to the two of you! <3 Jodi Marie "Jodi Campbell of Jodi Marie Events was our day of coordinator, and she also offers full wedding planner services. Jodi is nothing short of amazing. From the first meeting until the last minute of our big day, Jodi was organized, helpful and full of excellent advice and support. She will sit down with you at the start and go over every detail of your day, to ensure she can envision what you are, and make sure she knows the ins and outs of your big day to have the ultimate smooth ride. She will leave you worry free as she is quite experienced with weddings, and can handle any minor bumps on her own, or at your request, she will get on the phone with you so you can be aware of everything going on. She will be your eyes and ears! Jodi is quite personable and a number one pick for handling your most important day! She had to clean the kitchen at our venue (one of the many issues we had) to ensure we got our damage deposit back. She went above and beyond." -M Catering: Austin Gourmet

Jordan & Sarah are one of those couples who exude joy and love in all that they do. It was an honour to be the Day-Of Coordinator for their wedding, and to witness that overwhelming joy and love.
Their wedding day was perfect. There are so many beautiful memories from the wedding day, which I've been reminded of as I uploaded this blog post. These memories included:
Jordan & Sarah, you two are meant for each other. I am so grateful to have been a small part of your wedding day, and I look forward to seeing where your marriage takes you! Love to you both! Jodi Marie
"Jodi helped plan and run my wedding and at every turn I was blessed and thankful that she was there. She was great at making sure we thought of everything and had great ideas for the things that I didn't even think about having to plan. She was able to really hear and understand all the things that were important to me and made it happen.
Overall it was a great day and it was so wonderful that I was able to just be the bride on my wedding day and not have to worry about a thing knowing that Jodi was there and running everything. I know weddings can be expensive and that you might think you don't need a planner or a day of coordinator but I am telling you as a bride YOU DO! Make ever effort to budget of this person, hire Jodi and you will be thanking yourself that you did!" - Sarah

Day-Of Coordinator: Jodi Marie Events Photographer: Andrew Lukianiuk Photography Venue: Bible Fellowship It is with great joy that I am sharing Andrew and Sarah's Kelowna wedding on the blog today. You may have remembered seeing their proposal featured on the blog a short while back. This lovely couple were married in mid-October, and it was a truly beautiful day to be a part of. Andrew and Sarah are good friends of mine and my husband, Nic. Nic was the Best Man in the wedding and I had the privilege of being their Day-Of Coordinator. It was a calm and elegant day, all in honour of not just their wedding but also the start of a lifetime of marriage. Both Andrew and Sarah waited a long time to find one another, and I am blown away by how perfect they are for each other. I'm sure they would both tell you that it was well worth the wait. There were so many special details throughout the wedding day: the "blindfolded" prayer before the ceremony, the golden paper dots that Sarah delicately cut out to line the aisle and to decorate the guest tables, the smiles and kisses that the couple shared throughout the day, my husband's adorably awkward Best Man speech, and the sparkler exit at the end of the night. Thank you, Andrew and Sarah, for including me in your special day! It was so perfect and I'm so excited to walk alongside you in this new journey called marriage. Much love to you both, Jodi Marie "Jodi's service was fantastic and so professional! We knew we didn't have to worry about how the day would run, because she was handling all of the details. Jodi was completely invested in our day. It was just as important to her, as it was to us, how the day felt and looked. Overall, I am so glad we chose Jodi to be a part of our wedding! I would recommend her to anyone. She provides exceptional service at the highest level of professionalism." -Sarah Day-Of Coordinator: Jodi Marie Events
